Champaign

  • A 33-year-old man was arrested for attempted murder and aggravated robbery at the Premier Inn, 1505 N. Neil St., early Wednesday morning.

    According to a police report, officers received a report of a shooting at the inn. The victim, a 30-year-old Spring Green, Wis. man, was transported to Carle Foundation Hospital to be treated for a gunshot wound and other injuries.

  • A 26-year-old woman was arrested Tuesday for aggravated battery and mob action at the 900 block of West Beardsley Avenue.

    According to a police report, a 21-year-old woman reported being attacked by two suspects while a third suspect pointed a handgun at her face. One suspect was located, arrested and taken to jail.

Urbana

  • A 42-year-old woman reported being threatened via the telephone Wednesday evening at the 600 block of West Park Street.

    According to a police report, the victim was alarmed and disturbed after receiving a threatening voice mail from an unknown suspect at work.

  • A 9-year-old girl was suspended from school Wednesday morning for aggravated battery.

    According to a police report, while the girl was being placed in a secure room for disorderly conduct, she battered a 29-year-old woman. The girl was suspended and released to the custody of her father.

University

  • Police officers are requesting information about several reports of burglary from residents’ rooms at Weston Hall, 1209 S. Euclid St., last week.

    According to a police report, the unknown suspect entered victims’ rooms while they were sleeping and removed items such as cell phones, cash and lap top computers.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.
