Graffiti on Campus

The recent sidewalk markings displaying “Apologize for the Chief” and “KKK est. in 1906 at UIUC” have made their presence known on the Quad.

As of this moment, no investigations have been conducted. Sgt. Anthony Brown of the University police department said because spray chalk and stencils were used, no permanent damages have been made, thereby omitting any type of criminal investigation. If spray paint had been used, the University police department would have treated it as a criminal investigation in identifying the criminal to pay for the clean up cost. However, as no actual, permanent damage has been done, no charges will be made.
