Champaign

  • Sullivan-Parkhill Automotive, 440 W. Anthony Drive, reported burglary Feb. 5.

    According to a police report, an unknown thief broke a glass door to gain entry to the business. Once inside, the suspect stole a 50-inch plasma TV.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested for forgery at the intersection of Fourth Street and University Avenue Monday afternoon.

    According to a police report, the subject was arrested for using an 18-year-old victim’s social security card to gain employment at Adecco Employment Services.

  • A 38-year-old man and a 23-year-old man were arrested for possession of controlled substances at the intersection of Market Street and Kenyon Road Saturday night.

    According to a police report, a traffic stop was conducted for improper lane usage and a failure to signal. A K-9 alerted the officer to the presence of the odor of narcotics. The driver and the passenger were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. The 23-year-old driver was also arrested for numerous traffic violations.

  • Follet’s Bookstore, 627 S. Wright St., reported deceptive practices Feb. 4.

    According to a police report, a 31-year-old woman is a suspect for using several bad checks at the bookstore.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • Carpet Master, 1040 W. Bloomington Ave., reported theft Monday morning.

    According to a police report, an unknown suspect stole 12 rolls of carpet that were left outside with a forklift.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 26-year-old woman was arrested on a warrant, and a 26-year-old man was arrested for not having a driver’s license at the 1000 block of Bellefontaine Street early Saturday morning.

    According to a police report, a traffic stop revealed that the driver had no license and the woman had a valid in-state warrant for retail theft.

  • A 37-year-old woman was arrested for driving under a revoked driver’s license at the 1100 block of Joanne Lane late Saturday night.

    According to a police report, the suspect did not have an identification and lied about her identity multiple times. She was also charged with speeding and obstruction of justice.

  • A 29-year-old man reported theft at Station 211, 211 E. Green St., Monday afternoon.

    According to a police report, an unknown thief stole the victim’s suede jacket.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • A 34-year-old woman reported violation of an order protection at the 200 block of Brookwood Drive Monday morning.

    According to a police report, the victim has an order protection against the suspect, a 36-year-old man. The suspect initiated attempted contact with the victim since being served the order protection.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

University

  • An 18-year-old man was arrested for driving with a suspended license at the intersection of Gregory Drive and First Street Tuesday.

    According to a police report, the man was pulled over for driving without headlights and received a verbal warning.

  • A male resident at Pennsylvania Avenue Residence Halls, 1002 College Ct., reported theft Sunday.

    According to a police report, the resident reported that a female acquaintance had taken his PlayStation 2 from his room without his permission. Both parties told police that the woman had taken the PlayStation in order to get the man to replace the cord to the woman’s MP3 player, which the man had lost while he was using the MP3 player. Police instructed the man to buy the woman a new cord and met with both parties on Monday so the woman could return the PlayStation and the man could give her a replacement cord.

    No arrests had been made at the time of the report.

  • Ten students were removed from a Monster Truck Show at Assembly Hall, 1800 S. First St., for unruly behavior Saturday night.

    According to a police report, patrons complained that the students were spilling alcoholic drinks on them during the show. Officers confiscated several plastic cups that smelled of alcohol, miniature bottles of liquor, flasks and a canteen.

  • A woman reported theft from her car at Illinois Street Residence Halls, 1108 W. Illinois St., late Friday night.

    According to a police report, the victim told police she returned to her car after work and found papers strewn on the ground and on the front seat of the car. The car was locked when she departed for work and was locked when she returned. A house key had been inserted into the ignition, and a backpack was stolen.
