Meet Rob Main

By Michael Logli

When he’s not playing intramural volleyball or working with Sigma Chi fraternity, Rob Main, junior in Business, said he is busy meeting with leaders of different Registered Student Organizations to learn about issues important to students.

“This campaign has definitely been one of learning for me,” Main said.

Main said if he is elected student trustee, his experience with the school as a third-generation student and member of the Illinois Student Senate would be his greatest asset.

He said he hopes to improve the school’s financial situation and increase minority enrollment and retention.

Main also said he wants to look outside of Illinois for recruitment and use the Global Campus Initiative to spread the University’s name.

“I feel like the minority retention rate is not up to its potential,” Main said.

“I’d like to have a more level playing field.”
