Hearing scheduled for Champaign standoff suspect

A man arrested in a Champaign standoff made a court appearance Tuesday afternoon.

Terrance Gowder, 18, charged with one count of armed robbery, had a pretrial hearing scheduled for July 29 in Champaign County Court.

Gowder allegedly robbed a man at an ATM before running into a Champaign apartment complex where he was found by police and arrested five hours later. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of 45 years in prison.
