Ward 2 councilmember Danielle Chynoweth announced her resignation during a special Urbana City Council meeting Monday night. In a letter to the council read by Mayor Laurel Prussing, Chynoweth said her professional endeavors were getting in the way of doing her best work for the council.

Prussing said the city will be working to fill the position vacated by Chynoweth.
