Carle’s newest clinic opens doors next week

By Kate Szyszka

Next Monday the new location of Carle Clinic will open in Champaign on Curtis Road. The new clinic will serve patients from both the Mattis and Kirby locations, which will be renovated later this year for specialty services.

“Instead of trying to re-do an old building to fit our needs, we just created a new one completely,” said Kevin Kirby, a Convenient Care physician.

Patients that had previously used services at the Mattis and Kirby locations were notified by mail of the change.

The new building has amenities that contribute to patients’ convenience, including computerized self check-in stations, places to change in ultrasound and radiology rooms and faster radiology technology.

“The faster technology will make patients more comfortable because they will not need to remain in the same position for as long,” said Tiffany Smith, imaging coordinator.
