In addition to a new course load, new living situation and new people on campus, University students will experience another change on campus this fall: Newly renovated Campustown bars.

This summer CO Daniels, at 608 E. Daniel St., underwent a complete makeover.

“There’s going to be a whole new look to the bar,” said Reuven Chavira, general manager of the bar.

Major changes made to the bar include completely new flooring, booths on both sides of the bar and new walls in the basement.

“Everything will kind of have a wood look to it,” Chavira said. “We’re also re-painting everything.”

Former problems with the bar, including the bathrooms and leaks, will also be eliminated with the remodel.

“We completely gutted the bathrooms,” Chavira said. “We have all new toilets and sinks, everything is different.”

The bar will also make changes to their menu.

“We’re talking to distributors and trying to come up with new specials, but there is nothing final yet,” Chavira said.

Kam’s, 618 E. Daniel St., and The Clybourne, 706 S. Sixth St., also underwent renovations this summer.

Kam’s renovations are complete; The Clybourne is under construction.
