For University students craving comedy, the Illini Union may have a show to quench their thirst for laughter.

This Saturday, Sept. 27 at 8 p.m., the Quad welcomes “The Office” cast member Mindy Kaling and “30 Rock” cast member Judah Friedlander for a must-see comedy show, free to any University student.

President of the Illini Union Board, Leslie Cornell, said, “The goal of the Illini Union Board is to provide the best possible large-scale entertainment at a

low cost to University students.”

Cornell added that although the Illini Union puts on a comedy show every year, “the timing and the large-scale comedians involved in this show is a relatively new concept.”

Last year, the Union welcomed “The Office” cast member BJ Novak as its stand-up comedian, however the show also experienced some unfortunate weather.

Cornell said, “If the weather does turn bad this year, the event will be moved to the Illini Rooms in the Union; however, because these rooms only hold 800 people, only the first 800 students will be admitted.”

Anticipating good weather, the Illini Union Board encourages University students to grab their blankets and lawn chairs and come to the Quad for a night filled with laughs and must-see series stand-up comedy.
