‘Chicago’ coming to Assembly Hall

By Hannah Hess

Chicago, the hit Broadway musical, opens at Assembly Hall on Saturday, October 11. Curtains open on the famed play at 8 p.m. in the Star Theatre.

“We have plenty of tickets still available,” said Jennifer Larson, the assistant director of marketing for Assembly Hall. She added that an eight dollar student discount, for presenting an I-Card while purchasing tickets, would make the $32 to $45 seats more affordable.

The musical was a box office success in 2002, when the Mirimax Films version took home an Oscar for Best Picture.

“Since the movie the touring musical has really taken off,” Larson said.

Troika Entertainment, who will present the show, has performed multiple times at Assembly Hall and is a “well-respected” troupe, according to Larson.
