Body found outside Purdue residence hall

By The Associated Press

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind-Authorities are trying to determine the identity of a man who was found dead behind a Purdue University residence hall for graduate students.

University spokeswoman Jeanne Norberg says a service worker discovered the body about 5:30 a.m. Tuesday near the loading dock of Hawkins Hall in the southeastern section of the West Lafayette campus.

Norberg said Purdue police and the Tippecanoe County coroner’s office were working to learn the man’s identity.

The coroner’s office says foul play was not suspected in the man’s death.

Purdue Police Chief John Cox says there is no reason to believe there’s any ongoing threat to those on campus.
