Woman robbed at knifepoint on Quad Saturday night

University police are investigating an armed robbery that occurred on Saturday at 7:45 p.m. north of Noyes Lab, 505 S. Matthews in Urbana.

According to police reports, a female victim was walking when a man approached her from behind. The suspect displayed a green hand knife with a silver blade, and demanded her computer bag.

He took her bag, and ran east past the Union and then turned north.

The suspect has not been located by police.

The victim described the man as a black male with a dark complexion, approximately 5′ 10″ tall with a thin build. At the time of the robbery, he wore a hood over his head and an item covering his face. He was last seen with a dark and light horizontally stripped hat, a longer dark coat, and dark colored baggy pants.
