Healey Street to be closed beginning Wednesday

Students who regularly travel down Healey Street will have to find an alternative route starting Wednesday.

Students who regularly travel down Healey Street will have to find an alternative route starting Wednesday.

According to the city of Champaign, the Duce Construction Co. will start repair work on a sewer line on the 600 block of W. Healey Street. The block will be closed Wednesday through Monday at approximately 4:30 p.m.

The block will be closed to through traffic. Driveways will be open to local traffic. Parking at the East end of the block will be restricted.

Students who live on Healey Street are not worried about the road closing.

Pavel Ardashnikov, sophomore in Aviation, said it will be a minor inconvenience.

Some residents did not even know about the closing, said Mehul Agarwal, senior in Engineering. He said he will be fine.

“I guess it would probably suck,” said Eric Small, senior in Media. “We live so close that it’s really not too big a deal.”
