A battery was reported on the Engineering Quad south of Grainger Library on Nov. 22 at approximately 7:15 p.m.
The victim was injured after two suspects knocked him down and then kicked him in the face and on both sides of his body, according to a campus-wide e-mail from Chief of Police Barbara O’Connor.
The two suspects are described as male and approximately 20 years of age. One suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and the other had on a grey hooded sweatshirt.
The University police are increasing patrols as a result of the crime. Anyone with information is asked to call the department at 217-333-1216.
