Officers responded to a report of an armed robbery that occurred at the Red Roof Inn, 212 W. Anthony Drive, on Wednesday at approximately 11:33 p.m.
Four unidentified suspects forced their way into the hotel room of two Fort Worth Texas brothers, ages 21 and 22, and robbed them at gunpoint, according to a Champaign police press release.
The victims were working in the area and had been staying at the hotel
for about two months. They heard a knock at their door and when they opened it, the victims were confronted by four males armed with guns,according to the press release.

the victims denied any knowledge of what they were referring to, two of the suspects struck one of the victims with guns and began to search the room, according to the press release.
Moments later, a shot was fired and cash and other electronic items were stolen as the subjects fled. One of the victims then attempted to leave the room, and additional shots were fired back in his direction. However, neither victim required medical attention, according to the press release.
