Police blotter Feb. 28, 2014

Champaign

—Criminal damage to property was reported at Mandarin Wok, 403 E. Green St., at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, an unknown suspect broke a window of the business.

—Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported on the 400 block of East Healey Street at 11 a.m. Tuesday.

According to the report, an unknown offender burglarized the victim’s car.

—Domestic battery was reported on the 1700 block of Union Street at 3 a.m. Thursday.

According to the report, the offender and victim were involved in a verbal argument which turn physical. The offender became involved with another male and a handgun was displayed.

University

—A 21-year-old male was arrested on the charges of possession and delivery of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia at Townsend Hall, 918 W. Illinois St., at 10 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the man was arrested after officers were called to the residence hall because someone reported the smell of burning cannabis coming from a room on the second floor.

Urbana

—Theft was reported on the 200 block of West Green Street at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, an unknown offender stole the victim’s purse off a chair. The victim had stepped away for a few moments to use the copy machine and when she returned the purse was gone.

—Domestic dispute was reported on the 400 block of West Elm Street at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the victim and offender were in a dating relationship and lived together. The offender reported that the relationship was ending and when he was moving the last of his belongings out of the apartment an argument ensued.

—A 18-year-old male was arrested on the charge of battery on the 200 block of East Washington Street.

According to the report, the man was a resident at a boy’s group home and was located in a restricted area. When staff told him to leave, the offender battered the man.
