Champaign

  • Burglary was reported at JJ’s Fish & Chicken, 1114 N. Market St., around 7 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim’s phone was stolen out of his vehicle.
  • A 20-year-old male was arrested on the charge of possession of cannabis in the 1700 block of Hedge Road around 3 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender’s vehicle was stopped for improperly backing up after nearly hitting a squad car. The offender was found to be in possession of 30.7 grams of cannabis.

University

  • A 23-year-old male was arrested on the charge of resisting a police officer near the intersection of Sixth and Green Streets around 2 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, the offender was initially stopped for crossing the street against the light. He refused to produce identification and attempted to run from a police officer.
  • A 23-year-old male was arrested on the charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident near the intersection of Sixth and John Streets around 12:45 a.m. Sunday. According to the report, police were nearby when the vehicle the offender was driving struck a parked vehicle.

Urbana

  • Theft was reported at Schnucks, 200 N. Vine St., around 6 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the victim stated that an unknown offender stole the victim’s bicycle from the bike rack outside of the victim’s place of work. The victim said that the stolen bike had been left unlocked.
