UIPD issues notice reporting sexual assault at fraternity house

The University of Illinois Police Department issued a Campus Safety Notice on Monday to inform the campus community about a sexual assault that occurred Sunday morning.

According to the notice, the incident occurred early Sunday morning at a fraternity house. The assault was committed by a person known to the victim. Certain details about the incident are not included in the notice to avoid releasing identifying information about the victim.

The University is currently taking actions to provide resources to help those involved in the incident.

The University will continue to take actions to maintain the safety and security of the campus community, the notice reported. It also provided students with information about campus resources aimed at helping people who have experienced sexual assault, such as the Women’s Resources Center, McKinley Health Center and the Counseling Center.
