Police Blotter for March 31, 2016

Champaign

  • Police are on the lookout for a man after attempting to arrest him in the 600 block of East Daniel Street around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the report, police stopped a vehicle that was reported stolen. After the driver refused to relinquish keys to the vehicle he continued to push the officer’s hands away until the officer reached into an open window to unlock the car. Pepper spray was then used on the officer and the suspect drove away, disobeying multiple traffic signals along Wright Street, Green Street and Lincoln Avenue.

  • A residential burglary was reported in the 300 block of East Daniels Street around 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

According to the report, an unknown offender entered the victim’s unlocked sliding door and stole a gym bag along with two video game systems.

  • A 22-year-old male was arrested on multiple charges in the 1000 block of South Lincoln Avenue around 12:00 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the suspect was arrested on charges of possession of cannabis, possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Aldridge’s vehicle initially was stopped because he was driving at night without headlights. In addition to cannabis, police found cocaine and Ecstasy in the vehicle.

  • A 21-year-old male was arrested on a city warrant in the 1000 block of Kerr Avenue around 1 a.m. Wednesday.

According to the report, the suspect was an acquaintance of a previous suspect who stole property. After finding his location, the acquaintance let officers look around and find the stolen property. It was then found that the acquaintance had a city warrant and was transferred to CCSO jail. The original offender was not found.
