Robert Jones and the Office of the Chancellor sent a Massmail reaffirming the University’s diversity and inclusivity policy Thursday afternoon.
When discussing the nondiscrimination policy, the message brought up the use of “good faith efforts,” which are steps that employers at the University can take throughout the hiring or firing process to meet Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action obligations.
Jones also discussed the Accessibility and Accommodations Division, which is the office that deals with disability, religious and pregnancy-related accommodations. The message indicates that accommodations are available through the accommodation request form.
A new Title IX policy has also been introduced to combat sex-based discrimination such as “sex stereotypes, sex characteristics, pregnancy or related conditions, sexual orientation, and gender identity,” according to the Office of the Chancellor.
