University Police have arrested the University student responsible for the stabbing incident that injured two people around 2 a.m. last Friday on Green Street.

The two injured were also University students and sustained injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

In a statement released by the Division of Public Safety, Brandon Lee, age 20, identified himself as the offender through his attorney on Friday.

After an interview with police investigators on Tuesday, he was arrested for aggravated battery.

Footage from nearby stores aided the investigation, a campuswide Massmail from Police Chief Alice Cary stated.

“An abundance of high-quality security camera video from nearby businesses was an important part of the investigation,” the Massmail said.

According to the statement, the footage appeared to show that Lee and three others engaged in a verbal altercation with the two others on Friday around 1:54 a.m.

The two victims advanced on Lee, who was armed with a knife,” the statement said. “Lee and the other three then left the area before police arrived.”

Investigators have identified the three others who were with Lee but are not taking action against them.
