An armed subject with a firearm is at the area of Third and Green Streets in Champaign, according to an Illini-Alert Emergency notification sent to the campus community.
“Use caution and avoid the area,” the Illini-Alert read. “Check email for more information.”
UPDATE — August 19, 12:50 a.m.
UIPD sent out another Illini-Alert, stating they had searched the area but did not locate the suspect. They said the suspect is believed to be out of the area.
“It’s safe to resume normal activity,” the Illini-Alert read.
