UI students charged with battery after fight at FAR

Multiple University students were charged with battery after a physical altercation occurred at FAR on Sunday. Their court date is set for May 11. 

According to the University of Illinois police blotter, police received a call at 3:06 a.m. for a fight that began in a dorm room after a dispute related to “pressing elevator buttons.” 

University students Anthrius Carter, Amaurianna Price and Kayla Nix were all involved in the fight. Other persons involved include Dyshauna Smith and Alexus Vaughn, both residents of Normal, Illinois. 

According to the report, no one was seriously injured in the fight, although a $1,000 cell phone was destroyed. There were no other reported heavy damages to property.
