The Champaign Public Works Department will close certain portions of South Mattis Avenue and Kenyon Road for sidewalk construction projects later this week.
According to a press release from the CPWD, Mattis Avenue’s southbound traffic will shrink by one lane to make room for a construction project for the city of Champaign from Oct. 25 to Nov. 1.
Contractors will install sidewalks at 1915 S. Mattis Ave. between Cypress Drive and Ivy Court.
Another sidewalk construction project will be undertaken between Henson Place and Neil Street at 201 W. Kenyon Road. Between Oct. 25 and Nov. 10, Kenyon Road will also be narrowed to one lane.
All lanes of Kenyon Road will reopen once construction crews leave at the end of each weekday.
