Champaign police investigate shooting on Springfield Avenue

Champaign police were dispatched to the 2500 block of West Springfield Avenue following a report of a shooting with injuries on Monday. 

Officers found a 29-year-old man from Champaign who suffered a gunshot wound that was not life-threatening. The wounded man was then transferred to a nearby hospital where he is now in stable condition. 

There has been a search by officers in the surrounding area, but limited information is available. No arrests have been made at this time and the investigation is ongoing. 

Any business or resident near the area with surveillance cameras is encouraged to contact the Champaign Police Department. Officers ask that anyone who has additional information please call 217-351-4545.
