Champaign men arrested on charges drug possession, intent to deliver

Jordan Reynolds, 31, and Kyle Thompson, 36, were arrested Thursday on the charges of possession of controlled substances and intent to deliver, according to a report from the University of Illinois Police Deparmtment.

The men were arrested around 6: 45 p.m. at their residence, 610 Western Ave., Champaign.

According to the report, police obtained a search warrant after being informed of drug activity at the home. During a search, police found psilocybin mushrooms, MDMA, cannabis, LSD and other controlled substances.

In an email, State’s Attorney Julia Rietz said officers located 186 doses of ecstasy, 13 doses of LSD, 178 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, 443 grams of cannabis and $4,333 dollars during the search.

Rietz said both offenders admitted they provided drugs to friends and will be formally charged with four counts of possession and intent to deliver. Possession with intent to deliver ecstasy is a class X felony and the most serious of the charges and is punishable by 6 to 30 years incarceration in the Illinois Department of Corrections.
