Champaign

  • Forgery was reported at The Red Lion, 211 E. Green St., around 11 a.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the offender was trying to pass off a counterfeit $100 bill.
  • A battery was reported at Taco Bell, 1910 W. Springfield Ave., around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the 54-year-old offender had mental health issues and kicked a restaurant employee. She was taken to the hospital for evaluation.
  • Aggressive discharge of a firearm was reported in the 200 block of West Washington Street around 3 a.m. on Sunday. According to the report, officers responded to a shots fired call. No victims were located.

University

  • A theft was reported in the 2300 block of South First Street around 7:30 a.m. on Thursday. According to the report, a construction site manager reported someone had broken into trailers and stolen tools overnight. The total value of all the items was estimated to be $1,850.

Urbana

  • A 33-year-old male was arrested on multiple charges in the 200 block of Hartle Avenue around 10 a.m. on Monday. According to the report, the offender was arrested on charges including domestic dispute, possession of a controlled substance and the sale/delivery of drug paraphernalia. Police first responded to a call about the offender’s wife being afraid to go home after an argument over text message. Upon clearing the apartment, a scale containing a controlled substance was found in plain sight.
  • A 36-year-old male was arrested for being a runaway fugitive at Service King Collision Repair, 802 E. Perkins Rd., around 11:30 a.m. on Monday. According to the report, the offender was found to have an active arrest warrant from Kerr County, Texas. The arrestee was transported to the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office Satellite Jail without incident and was booked there.
