Champaign

First degree murder and death investigation were reported on the 400 block of West Vine Street around 9 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the victim was shot but later died from his injuries. 

An arrest was made on the charges of domestic battery on the 1700 block of Georgetown Drive around 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, two roommates got into a physical altercation. Only one roommate was arrested.

Aggravated discharge of a firearm was reported on the 900 block of North Third Street around 1 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the victim was shot. A possible offender has been identified but not yet been located.

University

Nothing to report.

Urbana

Identity theft was reported on the 1600 block of Abercorn Street around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the offender attempted to open a credit card using the victim’s name and personal information.

Harassment by electronic communication was reported on the 500 block of East Michigan Avenue around 8 p.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender sent a suspicious text message to the victim.

Credit card fraud was reported on the 1900 block of Kathryn Street around 9:30 a.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the unknown offender used the credit card information from the victim to purchase an item online.
