This is in response to Michael Leick’s letter which states “human beings, along with all other animals, reproduce by means of heterosexual relations, thus creating the basis for marriage and the traditional family.” I have two questions for Mr. Leick. First, what exactly is a ‘traditional family’? I’d be interested to know what this is without a biblical interpretation or holding up a mirror describing your own family. Second, if the basis for marriage is established with the act of reproduction, why are there so many abandoned children worldwide and why hasn’t my Australian cattle dog ever settled down?
