The Weekly Illini is your news podcast to keep up with the University of Illinois’ biggest stories.

This episode mainly looks at an incident between graduate student Tariq Khan and LAS Freshman Joel Valdez, that occurred before Thanksgiving break at an anti-Trump rally. We talked to Valdez to talked about what happened, as well as looked at comments Khan sent The Daily Illini in an email.

We also look at our reporter Karen Liu’s story about the deaf culture on campus, and the status of the American Sign Language program.

Thanks to Liu and our report Cori Lippert for their work. Also thanks to Valdez and Khan for their comments. Audio credit of the video to Turning Point USA’s YouTube channel.
