Theft $500 and under was reported at Hopkins Hall, 1208 S. First St., between Nov. 12 and Jan. 14. According to the report, two bicycles, which were locked to a rack, were stolen. The estimated value of the stolen bicycles is $500 combined.

A report was made by a business owner that someone had cashed a $762 check from the owner’s business account without permission on the 700 block of South Gregory Street Tuesday. According to the report, the owner wrote the check in October 2020 to pay a bill, but the check was stolen from the mail before it reached its intended destination.

Deceptive practices were reported on the 1700 block of East Mumford Drive around 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, the unknown offender scammed the victim into buying gift cards and then sending the gift card information to the unknown offender.

Deceptive practices were reported on the 900 block of East California Avenue around 1:57 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, the unknown offender scammed the victim over the phone into sending currency to the unknown offender in the form of prepaid gift cards.
