Champaign

Reckless discharge of a firearm was reported in the 1400 block of North Sunset Drive around 8 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, shots were heard in the area and shell casings were recovered.

University

Theft $500 and under was reported at the Illini Union around 10 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, a University student reported that someone attempted to steal his wallet and keys from the basement recreation room. A man grabbed the items and ran from the area, while the student and a friend pursued him. The keys were recovered when the offender dropped them inside the Illini Union, and the student’s friend retrieved the wallet after confronting the man on the Main Quad. The offender left the area before police arrived.
