UI system announces switch to online classes

By Kelly Johnson, Editor-in-Chief

The University of Illinois System has announced that courses will immediately start transitioning to online until further notice, with the transition to online hopefully completed by March 23. Campus will continue to stay open, including housing and dining halls.

Students can decide to stay on campus or continue their workload from home.

The shift also impacts any University-sponsored events or events hosted by RSOs that have more than 5o attendees. These events will be suspended.

According to the University of Illinois System, these policies are being put in place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
