Brown earns nomination

By Courtney Linehan

Dee Brown’s list of honors just keeps growing. Two days after being recognized on Senior Night at Assembly Hall, during which Brown and teammate James Augustine broke the school record for most career wins, Brown picked up another honor.

For the second consecutive season, Brown is a finalist for the Oscar Robertson Trophy. This award is chosen annually by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.

Brown is one of three repeat finalists – the other two are Duke teammates J.J. Redick and Sheldon Williams.

Maurice Ager of Michigan State is the only other Big Ten athlete to make the 2006 finalists list.

The Robertson Award winner will be chosen by the Basketball Writers Association membership, and will be presented at the group’s second annual awards breakfast at Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on March 31.
