ON-AIR: UI Soccer working toward goal

By Stephanie Paulsen

With just three Big Ten regular season games remaining, the womens soccer team is still working hard in practice so they can finish out their year strong. Senior midfielder Paula Faherty says not all their hard work happens on the field.

“Something we need to focus on is like our mentality and our mental fitness is what we call it, and that’s going to be really important for us.”

The team is currently five and two in the Big Ten. And their impressive record comes as no accident. Faherty says the team has really grown over the course of the season.

“I think the one thing that really sticks out is we’ve become more connected. I think we started off in each line was great on their own but we’ve really connected as a team and now our forwards can play with our midfields and our backs and the other way also.”

Catch girls soccer live in action this weekend for their last set of home games as they take on Purdue on Friday night at seven and Indiana on Sunday afternoon at one.
