Illini lose to Iowa, get sixth seed in Big Ten tournament

By Kyle Betts

The Illinois softball team needed two wins at Iowa this weekend to get the fourth seed in the Big Ten tournament. But a Hawkeye extra inning walk-off home run spoiled Illinois’ chances, as the team fell 7-6.

The Illini (30-24, 7-8 Big Ten) weren’t given a chance to rebound Sunday, as rain caused the game to be canceled. So the Illini enter the Big Ten tournament as the sixth seed and will face Michigan next weekend.
