Undefeated Illinois put the finishing touches on its perfect regular season, stomping Adrian College 9-0 in the Illini’s final game of the year at the UI Ice Arena.

In contrast to Friday’s slow start, the Illini scored early and often, racking up three goals in the first period and four in the second. Backup goaltenders D.J. Kohler and Nick Pecoraro both saw action and combined to shut out the Bulldogs.

Next week’s American Collegiate Hockey Association national tournament looms large for the Illini, who will look to earn an unblemished record and a national championship.

Check out Monday’s edition of The Daily Illini for the complete story about the Illini hockey team’s perfect regular season.
