The men’s and women’s cross country teams retained their titles in the Illinois Intercollegiate Championships on Friday.

Freshmen Kristin Sutherland led the way for the women’s team taking first place overall on her collegiate debut. Junior Stephanie Baliga began her comeback from a track injury from last spring as she made her season debut coming in 27th place.

In the men’s race, junior Jeremy Stevens finished second place overall leading the Orange and Blue to victory. The men showed they had a promising future with four freshmen placing in the top 20 overall.
