The No.1-ranked Illinois hockey team beat No. 11 Oakland University 6-0 at the “Big Pond” on Friday night.

For the Illini, Joe Cardona, Jordan Pringle, J.J. Heredia, and Tom Connell each tallied one goal, while sophomore Tony Razik found the back of the net twice on the night.

Goaltender Mike Burda has yet to give up a goal on the young season, as he shutout the opposition for the second straight game.

The final shots-on-goal for the night ended up lopsided in the Illini’s favor, 51-25.

The two teams take to the ice again on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
