Illini roll over Hoosiers on gridiron

Coming off a disastrous loss to Minnesota on Homecoming last week, the Fighting Illini turned its play around to defeat the Indiana Hoosiers 55-13.

In the first half alone, Illinois accumulated 306 yards on offense, while the Illini defense held Indiana to 145 offensive yards. True freshman running back Jason Ford had a standout day by scoring his third touchdown at the start of the fourth quarter. Ford finished with 172 yards on 19 carries.

After the third quarter, senior linebacker Brit Miller led the defense with seven tackles, while sophomore Arrelious Benn led the receiving unit with 130 yards receiving on seven receptions and a touchdown.

Junior quarterback Juice Williams was 16-of-22 for 271 yards and three passing touchdowns. Williams also added 30 yards on the yard on the ground with a score.
