Illinois soccer wraps up season with Friday win

The Illinois soccer team defeated Purdue 1-0 on its senior night on Friday night.

Senior Emily Zurrer scored the game’s only goal on a header off of a corner kick midway through the first half. Marti Desjarlais assisted on the play. Goalie Alexandra Kapicka had five saves.

With the win, Illinois improves to 11-8 on the year and finishes 5-5 in the Big Ten. The Illini also clinched the fifth seed for the Big Ten Tournament and will play Michigan State next week.
