The No. 17 Illinois volleyball team lost at home to No. 1 Penn State on Friday. The Nittany Lions undefeated streak was extended to 53 wins at Huff Hall, claiming the NCAA record for most consecutive victories.

Penn State has not lost a set all season, beating all their opponents by 3-0, a trend that continued against the Illini. Illinois appeared to be a worthy opponent in the first set, but after going down 1-0, there seemed to be no way back for the Illini.

Sophomore Laura DeBruler still put up big numbers despite the loss, while junior Ashley Edinger was also impressive for the Orange and Blue.
