The Illinois women’s cross country team completed its season objective on Monday, finishing tenth at the NCAA Championships with All-Americans junior Angela Bizzarri and senior Katie Engel paving the way.

Having set out at the beginning of this season with hopes of a top-10 finish at nationals, the runners finally achieved their goal. The tenth-place finish marks the fourth consecutive year that the Orange and Blue have finished in the top 10, becoming one of only two teams to do so in the past four years.

The Championships also marked the first time two Illini runners claimed All-American honors, as both Bizzarri and Engel finished in the top 40 individually, finishing sixth and 22nd, respectively.
