After a magical NCAA Tournament run, the Illinois soccer team’s season came to a conclusion Saturday. The Illini lost 3-0 to the North Carolina Tar Heels in Chapel Hill, N.C., in the Round of 16.

Illinois was outshot 17-6 by the No. 1 seeded Tar Heels, who scored once in the first half and added two goals early in the second half.

Chichi Nweke led Illinois with three shots, two of which were on goal. Goalie Alexandra Kapicka had five saves.
