The Illini completed the sweep Saturday against the Hawkeyes with an 11-3 win.

The early dominance from Friday’s win carried over into Saturday’s game as the Illini tallied six goals in the first period.

With his suspension completed, Jason Nemeth boosted the Illini attack, contributing two goals and two assists.

Jordan Pringle and Matt Jennings continued their strong play, each tallying three points in the winning effort.

In his first career start, Illini goalie Peter Filip gave up three goals in the first period, before Mike Burda took over for the remainder of the game. Hawkeye goaltender Will Dodge once again was overwhelmed, giving up all 11 goals.

The Illini will play at Ohio University next weekend. The puck drops on Feb. 6 at 7:30 p.m.
