After a mediocre start and a scoreless first period the No. 10 Illini downed CSCHL rivals Indiana Friday night 3-1.
The Hoosiers opened the scoring 3:39 into the second, but Illinois’ Mike Ursitti tied the game just under six minutes later on a quick wrist shot over the shoulder of the Hoosiers’ Daniel Abramson.
The Illini scored two more unanswered goals in a chippy third period, both coming off the stick of Sam Fatigato.
Goaltender Angelo Sakellarapoulos left midway through the third period with a knee injury sustained on a collision with an Indiana player.
