Illinois is set to depart this weekend for Ames, Iowa to compete in the Iowa State Classic. Overall the team struggled last weekend in the Husker Invitational, but there were a few major performances. Cam Viney finished the 60-meter hurdles in 7.82, good for the third-best time in the event in program history, while in the high jump, Jonathan Wells claimed the event title with a mark of 2.19 meters. Wells’ performance moved him into the top-10 collegiately for the event and centimeters away from matching the previous school record. The Daily Illini’s Will Gerard caught up with the two, asking for their thoughts on last weekend and what events they expect to compete in during their upcoming meet.
