The Illinois women’s cross country team will travel to Peoria, Illinois, and Terre Haute, Indiana, this weekend, following the team’s jump in U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association ranking from the No. 21 to No. 20 spot. Illinois also climbed to the No. 3 spot in the Midwest Regional rankings.

The team will divide and conquer this weekend. Select Illini will run in the Bradley Pink Classic Friday in Peoria, while others will compete at the Pre-Nationals meet in Terre Haute on Saturday.

Illinois returns to the course after nearly a month gap in competition. The Illini’s last race was the Buckeye Preview on Sept. 28, where the team placed second in a 12-program field.

The Bradley Pink Classic begins at 3:15 p.m. Friday, while Pre-Nationals will start at 10 a.m. Saturday.
