Illinois’ Casey Conine (8) and Amy Feher (24) clash with Michigan’s Chloe Sosenko (23) for a header during the game against Michigan at Illini Soccer and Track Stadium on Friday, Oct. 25. The Illini lost 2-0.

Casey Conine’s lawsuit has its first court date set.

The University is attempting to dismiss the lawsuit from Conine, according to the Champaign County clerk’s office.

Conine filed the lawsuit in July, claiming that a mishandling of a concussion ended her soccer career and made doing day-to-day activities difficult.

This lawsuit is one of the many against the athletic department regarding mishandling of injuries or abuse. Franczek Radelet, a Chicago-based law firm, is still conducting an external investigation into injury allegations against the athletic department

Illinois soccer has its season opener against Oakland Friday at Illinois Soccer Stadium at 7 p.m.
