Hello everyone! My name is Maddie Heidtke and I am a senior majoring in Animal Science and minoring in Leadership Studies. I started working with The Daily Illini as a Copy Editor last spring, and this year I am working as the Social Media Director. In addition to working with The Daily Illini, I am heavily involved in the Department of Animal Science and College of ACES. The summer before my junior year, I worked at the University Beef and Sheep Research Field Laboratory as a research fellow, where I conducted a research project on beef calf behavior. In May, my paper was published in the Journal of Animal Science! I have a passion for writing, both scientific and journalistic.
